Elected officials on both the state and city level have been integral to our success. We share the vision of seeing America’s youth better off tomorrow than they are today. We do this by helping enter their voices into the political spectrum in a way that broadens the traditional scope of topics and adds a new layer to the quality of discussion that takes place in local politics. Officials have aided our organization by endorsing our special events, such as the New York City Youth Congress. Candidates for office have participated in annual political debates that we hold in late October, right before elections. Officials impressed with our young leaders have invited graduates from our program to intern in their offices. In this way, they have helped to develop the leadership skills of young constituents that will carry on their legacy. Elected officials have publicly endorsed the resolutions developed by our youth, thus giving credit to young minds as capable and reasoned when it comes to political discussion. If you would like to be a part of our organization’s mission to inform young citizens about the value of civic engagement, please contact our offices and ask for our Executive Director, Ms. Francine Baras, C.S.W.
