College Applications

From the 3rd Annual New York City Youth Congress came a resolution to level the playing field with regards to the college application process. In New York City high schools, the ratio of college advisors to students can be as high as 100:1 for private schools and up to four times that amount for public schools. The college application process can be daunting with little guidance, so the resolution was passed in the spirits of strategizing a program that will ease students through this process. In this vein, FVA will work to make more students aware of as many post-graduate options as possible. FVA is engaging in preliminary talks with various organizations to develop a program to enact this resolution, with the expressed approval of New York City Chancellor Joel E. Klein.
